P-8 Cam-Operated Automatic Lathes High-Precision Set Screw Production with Proprietary Control Technology

We manufacture set screws using Petermann Type 8 (P-8) cam-operated automatic lathes. Our P-8 machines were manufactured between 1960 and 1963 and were originally designed and built by ourcompany’s first president.Since becoming independent, we have continuously repaired and modified these machines over many years.Today, they operate with our proprietary microcomputer-based control system, developed in-house.Although the P-8 is a cam-type automatic lathe, we have specially modified it to perform thread chasingoperations similar to those of CNC automatic lathes. This unique technology enables us to produce set screws with high precision and consistent quality.
Proprietary Automatic Chip Removal System Stable 24-Hour Production with Continuous Chip Discharge

Machining set screws and precision parts generates metal chips during production. If chips accumulate inside the machine, cutting oil cannot return properly to the oil tank, which may causeinsufficient oil supply and lead to serious problems, including fire hazards. To solve this issue, we developed our own automatic chip removal system using a screw conveyor. This system automatically removes metal chips from the machine, enabling stable 24-hour operation. We call this system the “DELChip” (see photo).
