From Cam Design to Manufacturing
Our company designs and manufactures cams in-house to achieve faster production lead times and maintain consistent quality.
The cam manufacturing process is as follows:
Step 1: Process Planning
We determine the machining sequence and select the most suitable tool shapes for the product.
This step establishes the optimal manufacturing process.
Step 2: Cam & Tool Design
Based on the process plan, we create cam drawings (development drawings) and tooling drawings.
We also manufacture our tools in-house according to these drawings.
Step 3: Cam Manufacturing
1. Marking lines are drawn on the cam blank based on the development drawing.
2. The cam blank is rough-cut with a band saw according to the markings.
3. A machining program is created for the cam slotting machine, and the cam is finish-machined to its final shape.
Step 4: Inspection
Before heat treatment, the completed cam is carefully measured and inspected to ensure it meets the design specifications.
Step 5: Marking
Identification markings are engraved on each cam so the corresponding product and application area can be easily identified.
Step 6: Heat Treatment
High-frequency induction hardening is applied to provide the strength and durability required for mass production.
Step 7: Delivery to Production
The completed cam is delivered to the manufacturing department for use in production.
